The first Green Building Council was formed as the USGBC in 1993 with the aim of promoting environmentally-friendly practices in the construction industry.
This spearheaded a movement by countries who believed that they could also create similar Green Building Councils.As the initiative took off, with more countries showing interest.
The United Nations of Green Building Councils was formed, offering support, and aligning the councils’ goals and objectives.
Egypt GBC was founded in 2012 and has been actively working towards encouraging the principles and practices of green building across the industry. Egypt GBC is continuously working to increase public awareness through multiple channels.
